This angel auction starts now and ends Sunday January 16th at 10pm EST board time.
Regular or credit card paypal accepted but you pay an extra fee if you do the credit card so I don't get hit with fees constantly. Postal money orders.
Bad traders need not bid it won't be accepted. Nor add for that matter. PLEASE be honest with your adds AND give them a fair value. Seriously how many of us ever pay retail for anything. That hidden gem you've been hoarding may say retail price X but place a fair value on it.
Anyone is welcome to add but please don't make this a pain my tush by not sending your end in a timely fashion. It frankly honks me. This is a donation of whatever you like to add and my time. It is still considered a trade and you can be reported to garnette for not following through. At the end of the auction within twenty four hours I will contact EVERYONE who added to give them the winning bidder's information. I am not a robot or automated like ebay and it takes me a while to gather all the email addies and get you the email. Plus I usually try to wait until the person pays. your thoughts are that you should pay the bid amount minus the "help" ? IMO that isn't right, what if someone doesn't follow through with what they pledged? It would be just like any other auction/trade I would think, where the winner would have to take it up with Garnette? I didn't realize my bidding the way I did would be a problem. I also have never hosted one of these auctions either, but again if it was a regular auction/trade wouldnt you normally wait until you got payment before you sent the items? Seems to me your bid/winning is based on so many factors, you selling your box (what if that person doesn't pay with paypal and send a money order when they get there paycheck) the pledged donations are paid (again, that is not Sues responsability to collect) and when you get your paycheck, which could be a week or two...Heaven forbid something happen during that time, but I just don't see where anything should be sent to ANY auction winner until auction is paid in full.
JMO...this is a great thing in helping Sue (and anybody else that has had an auction hosted on their behalf) lets not tarnish the good deed.

first off these angel auctions have always worked this way, that is when someone pays part of the winning bid it is deducted from the winning bid not added to it. There is no way I would bid that much money if the $60 wasn't coming off of my total bid. You may be able to afford to do that but I can not. And frankly the stuff wouldn't be worth $287 to me but for $227 minus the $60 then it is a good deal and helping out someone else. As far as payment, I have never cheated anyone on this board out of any payment that I owed and trust me I have won alot of the angel auctions and some of them have been over $200 or more. I don't keep that much money in my paypal account at one time to be able to pay it all that way therefore I have to send a money order. Yes I have to wait until payday to do so which is this Friday. And don't I have, by the rules of this board 2 weeks to complete the trade anyway? Not that I will be waiting that long but just making a point. I figured I would send the money from my box that ends tonight and she would have that sooner then the money order. My auction is for paypal only and the people who are bidding on it have always sent the paypal as soon as I let them know that they won. Also as far as others sending there part before I send all the payment, this has happened with all the auctions I have won. A couple of times I got stuff in the mail even before I got the money order mailed out. If there is a problem with me winning this auction then so be it they can declared you the winner, but you better believe I will never ever bid on another one or contribute to one because I feel I won with the highest bid at the ending time. So as far as people who added to the payment, no it isn't guaranteed that they send it but that isn't on me. and yes, I'm sure I will get flamed for that statement, but frankly, I don't care...I call it as I see it.
1) Not that it is of any concern of yours, I have bid & won on angel auctions.
2) You would not have been paying 287.00 for the auction and neither would I...my bid was for 227.00 (which would have been my out of pocket) AND anybody that pledged money was to send it to Sue....this way Sue would be GUARANTEED 227.00, and if everyone followed through with their pledges, 287.00.
3) I personally told Kristy when I was bidding on the auction it wasn't worth it to me...I don't do many rebates (and I will explain why next) and so as far as really wanting it, no, I could care less. My goal was to help a friend !!
4) I realize that maybe the name and addresses have been given out prior to payment, but IMO that needs to be rethougt (not even sure if that is a word) and also IMO if your bid is for 229.00, that is what you pay, thats your BID, not my bid is 229.00 but I'm going to send 169.00 because this person is going to pay me this and that person is going to pay me that. It would be no different than me going to the store (and here is why I don't do many rebates)and telling the cashier at walmart I want a 25.00 gift card, now I'm going to pay you 20.00 for it and when Coors sends me the 5.00 rebate they promised to if I buy this, then I will bring it back to you....duh.....things don't always work the way they are supposed to.

In all the auctions I have added pp as my part it has always gone to the person for who the auction benifitted never to the winner and what ever the total bid was the toatl amount of pp added was taken off the winning bid hence the wording " I will pay $10 towards the winning bid" and the usual recaps of " X anount of winning bid paid"
About haveing two weeks to pay for an auction I have never heard that one before esp if the auction is being paid for by pp/cash/mo I would hope that anyone who bids on an auction would have the funds to do so when bidding esp in the case of angel auctions because of the spirit of why they were held
Both Connie and Deedra are great ladies and traders and it is sad that there is an issue about this but what is even sadder is that Sue who we all are trying to help and show her our support,love and friendship is able to read all this bickering tisk tisk

Like you said teener, when people say I will add so and so towards the winning bid then I take it that that amount is coming off the final winning bid which it always has. As far as receiving their part of the payment, yes I feel it should go directly to Sue. When I emailed Kristy I told her I needed to know what my total was and she said $227 and the $60 that others put towards the winning bid was being sent to me and I was to make sure Sue got the total of $227. I would have preferred they sent it to Sue but that is the way Kristy set it up. I received $15 so far and I sent that to her this morning. Haven't checked to see if any more was sent to me yet. It's no big deal that they sent it to me but usually it is sent to the person the auction was for. As far as the two week thing I thought all trades had a two week waiting period before you could start asking where your stuff is, not sure about angel auctions, but I know there have been a few that I won and I probably waited that long or longer for a couple of the items even after my payment was sent. Yes, maybe I should have made sure I had the available funds when I placed the winning bid but I didn't think waiting a few days to send the payment would be a big deal, never has been in the past. I apologize Deedra if I was out of line with my comments to you, but I know you were wrong about the $60 part. I really want this auction but don't want to have to fuss with others over it. no where was anybody going to be out 287.00 BUT Sue would be getting 287.00....my bid was 227.00 AND I just naturally thought that anybody that pledged money towards the bid sent it to the winner of the auction, which then defrays that persons OOP for the win....IF I had won, I would have sent Sue 227.00, anybody that pledged money and that was supposed to send to me...I had asked they send it to Sue....so yes, technically I would have paid 227.00 for the auction instead of 167.00....I honestly thought I was doing something nice by "donating" the extra 60.00 to Sue. Sorry I caused so much trouble...either way I sent 60.00 paypal to Sue last night.

150|5|That is correct....the bid posted is the total amount that should go to the person whom the auction is benefitting....the winner sends their share of the total bid MINUS the pledges/contributions by the angels. To those involved: No you can't wait up to 2 weeks to send your end. I consider this way more like ebay than a trade. Sorry but I don't think it's right to count on a payday that's five days from auction end to pay for an auction. In ebay you have three days which I think is way more appropriate especially when we are trying to raise funds for someone. There have been times the funds were needed immediately and a situation where you think you have two weeks to send it just mind boggling to me. I always wait until at least partial payment is paid before I send out the address. There are times people have the address already from previous trades or auctions and send without waiting for me to give out the address. That's their choice. This frankly has gotten totally out of hand. In the future I will definitely be more specific with the auction (though I thought I already was) to avoid problems such as this.

I sent that email to you right after Deedra posted her first response and I was upset by it and since then I have apologized to her and to Sue for my comments. I never said I was going to wait two weeks to send the money order I was just saying I thought we had up to two weeks to complete the trade. It is obvious that you never wanted me to win this anyway since your first email to me was to ask me if it was okay to let Deedra have this. Her 10:00 bid was not for $287 but $227. By rights this is mine and yes I did say to give it to her but I was ticked off at the time of writing that email. If you would have read the other posts you would have seen where I said that I really wanted it but that's ok, it's your auction and she is the one you wanted to have it from the beginning. Sorry I don't have hundred's of dollars that I can just send right over to pay for something which has never been a problem before. Maybe from now on when you do these auctions you might not want to accept money orders and state that payment is due within 24 hrs or you forfeit the win. That way you will only have specific people who will be able to bid on it. and Kristy had no problem when I told her I would be sending a money order. Every thing was fine and dandy until Deedra posted about the $60 and then it got all out of hand. Kisty did not post that the payment had to be made in x-amount of time so that is why I bid, if she would have posted it different then I wouldn't have bid. I didn't think a few days was a bid deal. I understand that Sue may need the money right away for whatever reason but it should have been posted that the money had to be paid right away and sending a money order probably shouldn't have been an option, that's my opinion. I have since apologized on here to Deedra for my comments to her and I hope she excepted the apology. Maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and let the posts get to me, I don't know. But I have bid and won lots of these angel auctions and have never had a problem until now.
