I did not have a clue what I could do for community service, then I realized the one thing I am good at is stretching a dollar. So I found a church that has outreach program for at-risk teens. I started teaching them about couponing, rebating as part of budgeting. It is so much fun !!!!! I start each one with a small gift card (or two if they are really small amount) and that is their budget. I have been using gift cards I got through mail-in offers, ect. but now I have depleted my stock and need more. The kids get to keep what they buy and also get to keep any amount left on the card if they budgeted really well. I am not looking for even amounts, because I also teach them that everyone has to live within their means and if they make less than someone else they have to stretch that amount ( I do try to not make more than a dollar difference in each child). I am interested in small value Gift cards only, not more than $10. CVS, Wal-mart, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Kohl's and K-mart are the places I take them to shop the most. I would also be interested in gas cards to help defer the cost of transporting them. I may be interested in a couple of gift cards for fast food restraunts as well to use as a "reward" for the students who do the best in "class".
