The Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home in Denton, Texas (where I work) is looking for both relief and full-time houseparents. We are a Christian children's home who work with level 3 behavior and under. Full-time houseparents work 6 days on and 3 days off. You are provided a three room + bath apartment within the cottage. During your 3 days off, you are provided a staff house to stay in. Relief houseparents work 3 days each in two cottages and then have 3 days off. Housing is also provided at no cost to relief people. Full-time houseparents should be a couple(preferred), relief houseparents can be single or a couple (preferred).

A routine day involves cooking breakfast for the 8 children in your care, getting them off to school, helping with homework and supporting them in special activities they might do. Except on the weekends, the evening meal is served in a common dining room with the others on campus. The weekend meals are in the cottages.

We have 4 cottages on campus along with a full sized gymnasium and weight room, tennis courts, swimming pool, 2 donkeys!, 2 dogs, and lots of good kids! We are currently in a multi-million dollar building project which includes a new office building, rebuilding of a cottage, and 4 single parent duplexes.

If you are seriously interested in one of these positions and feel called to have a Christian ministry with children, please contact me. I will be happy to send your resume onto the appropriate person. By the way, I am the Campus Chaplain and minister to the needs of the children, staff and families of CPCH.
