I got my polio shots as a child and never got polio - all of my children got polio shots also and never got polio. But, I now know several healthy people who got Covid before the shots were available and they died - bet they wished that they could have gotten their shots before they got the virus.

polio vaccine was a true vaccine - a piece of the virus was in the serum - my brother was a polio pioneer and cannot imagine how scared my parents were to let him do that. This is not a vaccine. Vaccines are not attached to a persons' messengerRNA as this shot was.
Lots of people died from this flu - probably the worse coronavirus flu since anybody can remember. We get coronovirus flus all the time - nothing new. But this one was invented by China in a laboratory which made it a whole, new, different entity that the world did not know how to deal with....and way too much politics was involved. My doctor used Hydroxychloroquin from day 1 and had not 1 death and only 1 hospitalization. Very few healthy people died of this Coronovirus - the biggest problem was obesity. I am sorry you lost your friends but you cannot prove or disprove whether the "vaccine" would have made a difference.....it's mathematically impossible to prove a negative
