In case you don't know, there is a BIG difference between voting by mail and absentee voting - we were snowbirds for 10 years and never knew where we would be in November. I was registered to vote in NJ and my husband was registered to vote in FL. By contacting our local voting people, we were send an absentee ballot, many weeks before the 1st Tuesday of November. We were NOT sent this ballot without tons of proof of who we were and where we were

Voting by mail means a ballot is sent to everybody's and anybody's last know address....doesn't matter who lives there now, doesn't matter if it is a retirement complex with different box numbers....doesn't matter if you've moved or died.....it cannot be controlled and there is no requirement of proof of who filled out the ballot.

I live in a community of 64 lots and we had a recent vote on an item that had a lot of contention....we probably have 15 people who are always involved in community stuff and 50 that do not bother. .votes were mailed to street addresses, NOT certified.....one of the neighbors literally followed the mail truck and pulled the ballots out of the mailboxes of those not involved.....the 50 who are never involved had no clue this ballot was coming and therefore, had no clue that their ballot was missing.

that is the problem with voting by mail

In my neighborhood, you just call The League of Women Voters to get an absentee ballot - anybody can google it for how to get one in their area

amazing how some of your people like to play stupid and think they are one and the same

Joanie 7|1|i think you should have to request a ballot simple as that! and if you want to vote you should be able to |gwens29|gwen41539@bellsouth.net|16:10:03|08/16/2020|

... the one we fill out and then take to a designated spot for drop off prior to the election? Do they just automatically mail all them out? 11|2|Voting|Joaniebott|joaniebott@AOL.com|08:45:57|08/20/2020|

It all depends on whether your state is doing mail-in voting....

the easiest thing is to google "Absentee ballot near me" and then call your local elections people and ask them to send you an absentee ballot - first you get a informational package which you fill out and return (proving you are who you say you are) and then they will mail you an actual ballot. You fill it out and mail it back

If your state is doing mail-in voting, a ballot is supposed to magically appear in your mail box - what you do with it? I have no clue
