I file taxes but don't pay anything nor get a refund - I file them because I cannot get local "old people" rebates (electric/homesteaders/water) unless they are filed

And now it says a check will be mailed on 4/24/20 to the address they have on file. Says this for my mom & I both. Now if that means it'll be direct deposited (they do have our banking info) or snail mailed, I don't know.
But I've been checking off & on since last week & it just said we were eligible to receive it & then asked for our banking info which they actually don't need cuz they already had it anyway from Homestead Credit but also cuz those of us receiving SS/SSI/SSDI/VA are NOT supposed to have to provide that.
From what I've read/understand, the ONLY people who aren't eligible to receive a stimulus check are those behind on child support, those under age 17, those who can be claimed as a dependent on someone else tax returns, & those who don't have a SS number.
ETA: And as far as I know, if you have direct deposit, you will receive it that way. If you don't have direct deposit, you will receive a paper check snail mail which can take a bit longer to receive.

My friend kept waiting to hear and when I saw your link I sent it to her. She checked and found out they were waiting for two pieces of information before processing her deposit. She never got an email from them so if she had not looked she would never have known why she didn't quaify.

There was no need to fill it out if you get SS..they took our info from that. It said in what I read that if you receive SS you don't need/and shouldn't fill out the form because that sets it back for review..

The get my payment tool has never worked for us. Some say spell street, or use ST or use STREET, and don't use a 9 digit zip, do use a 9 digit zip, etc. We gave the IRS our bank info on April 10 and we get SSA by direct deposit. Nothing!. Help.
