I have 11 people so far so I divided into 2 groups. We'll start the ball rolling on Monday. We can do a header for each group each week: GROUP 1 Week of 1/12 then each person post under that heading for the week. Or we can do it daily( I just thought it would be easier to read and keep up with just to do a header weekly) YOu don't have to post daily but it would be nice to post at least once a week to let everyone know how you are doing and to support your group in their efforts.

First,everyone should weigh Monday morning and set your weight goal for the 12 week period. Be realistic about it. You could expect to loose 2-3 pounds per week, if you have that much to loose.Example: Personally, I would like to loose at least 20 pounds this 12 week period(I have 50 total to loose.Post your goal.


Second, post personal info about yourself. Married, children, grandchildren, work, where you live, etc. just so you can bond with your group. Also post how you are planning to loose your weight/ What type of exercise you plan to do and what type eating plan you plan to use.

Third, you should start a personal weightloss journal. Keep up with your daily eating and exercise routine. I have found if you set a goal of what you are going to eat and exercise before hand and write it down you are more likely to stick to it. Just check off what you actually do. Post at least weekly how you are doing with your goals of eating and exercising.
If you want to post daily with how and what you did that would be great. It will help inspire everyone if you are doing well personally.

Also, try to drink at least 10 cups of water each day. Keep up with it and post in your journal.

I did the Atkins before also and lost about 10-15 pounds pretty easy. I didn't like not going to the bathroom though, ha ha. Did you have that problem when you did the Atkins diet?

I took Xenadrine w/ephedra a few years ago and lost about 30 pounds. I did alot of exercise though and ate pretty good. But it too had its down side. I couldn't sleep well at night while I was taking it.

Have you every of the Body For Life Challenge by Bill Phillips?? Well I am basically going to do it not the whole shebang just pick the parts I like I guess. It requires you eat 6 meals a day. But you can replace with the Myoplex shakes from GNC. The meals are 1 protein and 1 good carb and 1 vegie and 2 meals. The proportions are about the size of your palm or closed fist. They are lean meats and good carbs. There is a website that tells about it. bodyforlife.com

I am breastfeeding so I have to eat well. But I have not been exercising at all. I have a 6month old and have not lost much weight at all after having him.

I am really excited about us doing this as a group. I know it will help me and I feel it will help others also.

I had the opposite happen to me on the Atkins diet. I was always in the bathroom I really enjoyed the diet and what helped me the most was that my dh went on it also. It makes it a lot easier to have your spouse doing it with you. We are going to do the Atkins again but since I am allowed 40 carbs a day it should make it easier (I plan to stay under). I think just knowing I can have more carbs makes it seem easier (since I won't feel like I'm cheating the diet or myself if I do eat more one day).

I also have a son. He is 17 months old so my exercise is chasing him around and around and around. I should be as thin as a rail for all the running after him I do but it just doesn't work that way. I gained 18 pounds during my pregnancy (which is almost gone thanks to the Atkins diet) but I would like to lose 30 more.

I agree having a support group is a great idea. I think it would be great to get everyone's mailing address's also so that we can send little note to cheer people up when we know they have had a bad week, or to say Way to go when they have had a good week. There is nothing like opening a note or a card and having someone say Your doing Great... Or hang in there.... You know what I mean. Maybe we could have a group leader for each group. Then everyone in that group could send their mailing info to the leader, he/she could put the info in one email and send to everyone in her group. then if people want to send encouraging words etc they have the info. What do you think?

Well I am off my son is sick with a temp of 102 tonight and I can hear him stirring again. I may check back in later as I think this maybe on of those nights when I am up and done all night. Sure hope he is feeling better tomorrow.

Hope your little one gets better soon. I know it's hard when a child is sick. Our 6 month old was sick right before Christmas for over a week. Just a cold I guess but it was terrible he was misserable and couldn't sleep at all nor did I. My DH is working all weekend. He is a surgical RN and he has call. So he can't come home. He has a 15 min callback time and we live to far from the Hospital. So I'll play for a while and watch SNL.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to get started tomorrow. I am trying to drink all my Dr. Pepper tonight so that I wont be tempted with it anymore! LOL! Anyway, I am Amy, a SAHM to Nicholas ( 4.5), Gregory (2) and Jamison (3 months). I have about 40 lbs to lose. I want to get down to about 10 lbs below my prepregnancy weight with my first. I was 145 when I got pregnant with Nicholas, and I think 135 would be perfect for my height and build. My goal is size 8. I will be doing Weight Watchers Flex Points. I will try to post my journal daily. After I drop Nicholas off at preschool in the morning, I am gonna take the other two boys and go to Target to get a scale. I am still up in the air about my exercise program, since I don't belong to a gym. I am going to try to get into one next week that has child care available. My husband is Jeff, he is currently deployed, but is due back in about 3 weeks. He is very supportive of this and will be my exercise partner when he gets home. I will be allowed 22 points per day, with 35 flex points per week that I can add where ever I want to. I can also earn points to use each day based on my exercise. I am so glad I saw the post about this! I usually only hang out on the bargains board, only occasionally on the coupons board. Can't wait to get to know you all!!

Realistically, I can't. I just found out a week ago that I'm pregnant again. Jordan turned two Xmas Eve and Alec turned 5 months on the 5th. I desperately need to shed this baby fat and now here it comes again. Oh well. Maybe this type of thing will be around in say 8 months. lol Good luck to all. Jenna
