that someone posted a few yrs ago she had bought bulk stamps online and they turned out to be fake/forged and not useable. Anyone else remember this? I remember who posted having the experience--- a frequent poster at refunding board-- but it was quite some time ago. Ihave never heard of anyone offering legitimate u.s. stamps at a discount. my son bryan looks around on ebay- he usually gets a nice batch of either 2 -- stamps that used together add up to .55 or a few cents more OR gets a roll of forever stamps that may be from another year. we've never got any counterfeits or anything like that. they sure sell a lot of them to lots of people. these people have great ebay ratings! my son has some health problems-so I just thought i'd ask to see if anybody else had a cheaper way to buy stamps.

Yes you can legally buy Forever stamps in bulk and resell them at a later date. Just ask any stamp collector.
Whether or not you can sell them for face value is another story. There are sites out there that sell postage stamps below face value like Buy Discount Stamps. Also as the other contributors mentioned they sell for less than face value on eBay every day.
There are also services that will buy your unused postage stamps. You can sell them stamps at a discounted rate of face value.
Are stamps a good investment to make money on? That all depends on what you buy them for and what you sell them for. If you buy them for face value at the post office, then it’s not a good investment. Even if you wait for postage rate hikes, the fact is you won’t be able to sell them for face value in bulk, so that defeats any gains you may have with the rate hikes, and then some.
However if you buy a stamp collection that contains unused postage stamps, and you pay less than face value, and sell them for more than you bought them for, then yes that would be a good investment and profitable gain!
