Hi everyone,
I was a member here a long time ago. I just rejoined, since I have no idea what my old password was. Do people here still do sweeps, where you send a big old box of stuff and get points? Did I dream this? It took me forever to find this forum again, but I’ve been thinking of it for a long time. Thanks!

I think it was mostly on Refund Express - sadly the lady that ran the magazine/website passed away years ago.

People made lists of items and assigned them all points. Whoever sent in the box/envelope/etc. with the most points won the prize. So they'd post a long list like this:
1 unexpired coupon 1 point
1 sample 3 points
1 full sized shampoo 10 points
1 pair new socks 50 points
1 bag of laundry pods 100 points
and so on. Then they'd offer a prize, usually a really good sized box of stuff. And when people sent stuff in they'd track the points.
At least that's how I remembered it. It was like 10 years ago! :)

The person holding the drawing would tell us what the prize would be - then she would list all of the items that she would like in return for chances for her drawing prize. She would give "points" for different items - a coupon might get you one "chance" for the drawing or a sheet of stickers would give you "10 chances" for the drawing. Then she would put all of the "tickets" in a box and draw out a winner - so the more things that you enter in the drawing would give you more chances to win. I won a LOT of drawings back then - it was a lot of fun. Didn't Mary Jane Reed (or something like that) have a little newsletter out lately that had drawings in it???
