I have been couponing for a long time and try to save as much money as I can. I never shop health food stores and do buy alot of processed foods. A few weeks ago my husband was in the ER for a kidney stone, which he has alot of them, and also they found something on the scan and told us that he has a greater chance of having a heart attack. Before going home they told us to not eat alot of red meat, pork, fish, and salt which alot of processed foods has salt in it. They told us to eat more fruit and veggies. My question is how do I go about getting health food coupons? I am reading labels alot more now.
Thanks for any help you can give me. Karen S. in NC 1|1|Some tips...|Meezer_Mom|cheznishilia@hotmail.com|22:49:22|09/01/2018|

Hi Karen,

Sorry your husband's going through this. Am glad you're taking it seriously.

Identify some of the foods he CAN have and email the manufacturer to request coupons and being added to the e-list.

Do the same with the health food stores near you.

Fruits and veggies aren't cheap but if you shop the produce aisle and farmer's markets, and look for deals when certain ones are in season, you should be OK.

And don't overlook beans as a protein source, if he can have them. It's a very lean, zero-fat, high-fiber, high-protein vegetable that is quite satisfying and is about as cheap as you can get if you buy dry and rehydrate.

All best.

Purrrz,

Sue
