Dollar General ad for the week says buy new Hershey bar and get 1 free and you can use the candy coupon in paper for the deal. I went down to the store and they have none of this candy bar in the ad. Manager says no rain checks.
Is this legal?

Went to several Riteaids looking for the candy and no one had them either. Found a box full at 1 Riteaid sitting beside the candy racks and opened it to get some, the cashier threw a fit, said i wasn't supposed to do that, they weren't supposed to sell it because it was a new product and they hadn't made the space for it on the candy rack yet. I had waited on someone to ask before i opened it but the lines were backed up at the registers and i was in a hurry. I told her if they didn't want it opened or sold they should have put it behind the counter, how was i supposed to know. She was so very rude about it, i couldn't believe they didn't want to sell it after it was advertised in their weekly ad. I told her that but she said that didn't matter. She was the one that i tried to ask about opening the box before i did but she went in the office and never came back out until i was checking out. That's when it all cut loose, lol. No one seemed to care! I told them that's why i've not shopped at Riteaid in months, problems just like this. They didn't care about that either! I used to be a Riteaid loyal shopper, in the stores 4-5 times a week but stopped last February because of major problems with coupons, they never wanted to take them without a hassle. Got tired of it and stayed away, this made the 2nd time i had went back since then. the new hershey bars were on sale last week. We got one box in and sold them all because they were .50 so of course we had none for this week when the coupon came out. We get our truck tomorrow and the manager made sure to order a few boxes. As far as not selling them because there was no spot for them yet, that is not true. We sat ours on the counter and sold them from there. I thought anything in the store and advertised would be for sale but not according to this cashier! They were not to be sold until they made a place for them on the candy rack(that's her exact words) Someone sure needs to tell her different, lol. Never saw someone get so upset over an open box!!
