My big yellow tom cat won't eat & barely drink, going on almost a week now..(9 years old)
We took him to the vet & had blood work done..came back normal..
Over a year ago he had the problem with urine crystals but that does not seem to be the case now..
They want us to leave him & do ivs to get some fluid into him..sooo expensive..
Anyone have similar problems?

I won't second guess the vet but do ask if they ran a kidney panel on him. If they did and that's among the good numbers (which is GREAT news for his age, btw), then he may just be dehydrated and fluids are helpful.
He may have also taken a dislike to his usual food, esp. if they've changed the formula. It happens.

I'm so sorry to hear this. As most of you know our cat broke her leg in Sept and is just now being able to stay out of her kennel for short periods of time. Our pets become so much a part of our lives, they become family members. To loose one has to be heart breaking. I'm so sorry for your loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
