My husband got in an accident at work about 3 months ago the man lift he was on broke and he fell about 12 ft to the ground and the man basket fell on top of him. He wound up with a fractured skull, 14 fractured ribs, fractured pelvis, a collapsed lung and a dislocated shoulder. It's been a nightmare!! He was in the hospital for 2 weeks and has been to numerous drs since. He goes for shoulder surgery next Tuesday. He went back to work on light duty sitting only awhile after accident. He went in to his boss to ask him if they could give him something easier to do till he completely heals cause they were making him do things he shouldn't be doing and they fired him. He is fighting with workmans Comp cause now they saying he quit when he didn't they fired him . So he's been out of work for 3 months no pay, no workmans Comp no nothing. Our bills are piling up and we have no way to pay them about to lose everything over all this mess. I can't work cause I have too many health problems I'm fighting disability. He can't get another job right now cause he's not released from his drs he's still on light duty so no one wants to hire him till he's fully released. We have set up a go fund me page asking for help if anyone can help even $1 it would be greatly appreciated!! Or if u can help high coupon value wise or wine tags that would be greatly appreciated too!! These past few months have been hell going through all this stress and worry. We got one you don't pay unless you win. My husbands company he was working for is fighting it and so is work comp. Trying to say he quit when he didn't he got fired. Why would anyone quit a job where they are being paid when they can't get another job anywhere else cause drs haven't released him. It was only income he had he wouldn't be stupid and quit. It's becoming a long drawn out process that the lawyer said it could take a long time. It's screwing us cause we have no income, he can't drawn unemployment cause of it cause they saying he quit . We are so stressed over this it's making us sick. We have tried to apply for help and can't get any anywhere only thing we could get help with was a Lil bit of food stamps. We hate asking for help but we don't know what else to do our hands are tied, were being screwed over by his last job. It's their fault he got hurt cause they had him on a man made man lift that was rotted and it broke with him in it and came crashing down on him. He could've died. We have been through hell cause of this accident mentally, emotionally, physically and financially!! Right now mine as well as other churches funds are low all they can help with is some canned goods and stuff from pantry. Trust me though we appreciate it . It does help!!

I went through this a few years back with my husband. He was off work for a year and a half. It took about 4-5 months for his workmans comp checks to start coming in. In the mean time we were behind in everything. I work but only clear about $700 a month. At the time he was a smoker so there went some of the money. After I paid car payment and insurance, put gas in the car and bought his smokes there went the money. I took thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and sold and got a fraction of what they were worth. I went to the local food bank twice a month to help us out until we got food stamps. We would have lost our home if it wasn't for this wonderful program called Save The Dream. They paid our back morgage, paid 6 months ahead and paid off our second morgage. That alone was about $30,000. All we have to do is stay in our home for at least 5 years after we started making our own payments and we owe them nothing. It has been almost 3 years since all this happened. My husband sued the company, they settled with him but he did loose his job because of it. Being on workmans comp is a big pain and it's never about the person who got hurt. Hang in there and use any and all resources that are available to help you.
