Has anyone bought lettuce this week? I live in Suffolk County Long Island, New York and went to the store this morning. Could not believe my eyes $3.99 for romaine lettuce. This is not a fancy store. It is called Best Market. On Monday in another store (Shop Rite) I bought a bag of Dole very veggie salad on sale for $1.64 and I had a coupon for .75 which doubled. Good deal. Gas has also gone up every day. Now Speedway regular is $2.45. What is next. Needed to vent. I just saw a head of iceberg lettuce at 1.99.

because of the flooding in CA. The farmers couldn't plant on time due to the wet ground
and apparently what did get planted didn't grow as well as usual. At least this is what
our local news showed last week.

On Thursday Stop and Shop is having a special on iceberg lettuce .77 Will hopefully get a head that day. Watch, they don't give out rainchecks for special deals. I looked on flyer and no where does it say no rainchecks. Romaine is about $1.50 or higher, depending on the store.
Meijer is running a sale on Dole bagged spinach or coleslaw for $1
Usually the celery is only .99 at Aldi
