My Mom wanted to go to an estate sale the day after Thanksgiving. I always give my DD money for garage sales, etc. and when the money is gone, then she can't beg for more money.  She was an avid reader and found a boxed set of Anne of Green Gables books and asked how much they were - she gladly paid the 50¢ for them.
