I got rid of my land line last year. However, I get these stupid marketing calls on my cell phone, too.
I do not answer any unknown number and I block them from my phone as soon as I receive them. I figure if it is something important, the caller can leave a message.

phone numbers you want not to receive these darn calls I think
they are also like everyone else, sell your phone number to the
highest bidder and you get NO protection like I said just more
unwanted phone calls

Callers can be fined up to $16,000 per call.

I try not to answer the phone, and also write down the numbers. My phone company has a way to block them, but if they use a cell phone, it can't be blocked.
