They are natural for feeding food in the winter... They can't help it if they get scared and run out in front of a car..... Killing innocent animals is horrible.

Not sure who was posting that deer do not starve in the woods-they actually can due to overpopulation since they reproduce so quickly and frequently in pairs. Venison is healthier(whoever said that is so right) then most meats available in the market-he also duck and goose hunts, and gives that to some neighbors who rely on donations to make it thru....sorry if it offends you-they have caused over 15,000 in damages to my vehicles over time, mostly during rut....not due to us moving in on them...If you are a vegan, then I understand you not liking hunting, but if you are not, research the slaughter houses for any animal. I formerly lived in NJ all my life until I moved to NH 4 years ago and can tell you there was always a huge deer population and my last home, they would come up to my house at night to eat all my flowers!! My BF who still lives in NJ got hit by deer 4x on her way to work over the years as she takes the back roads. They just jump out when you least expect it and you have no time to stop. My Mom also got hit by deer once. Although I've never had venison heard it is very healthy too. If any of you eat beef and knew what was going on in slaughterhouses today, you would never eat beef again! I buy grass-fed beef from local farmers. I live near woods and I have to drive past it every day and night. Never once did I hit an animal. Maybe if people slow down then they would not hit animals. ...kill just for pleasure. There are those who kill for sport, and there are those hunters who kill to cull an overabundance of certain animals. However, the vast majority of hunters kill to put food on the table. Hunters kill game during the hunting seasons, and any excess meat is given to butchers, who will process the meat and donate it to food banks nationwide.
As long as hunters aren't poaching, there is absolutely nothing wrong with hunting game, IMO. I think that most hunters would agree with what I've stated. Many people think that killing animals is sad, especially killing them needlessly. But hunters, for the most part, don't do that sort of thing. And when one balances providing food for the family or not killing game animals because they "look pretty"...food for the family wins out. That's just the way it is, the way it's always been, and the way it always will be.
Decreasing the over abundance of deer, for example, is providing a service to the deer so that they will have more to eat. Also, this provides a service to landowners who have their crops ruined by all the grazing deer.
