A friend of mine is traveling to New York between Christmas and New Years & wanting to watch the ball drop in Times Square.

Does anyone have any insights, hotel recommendations, etc....

Thank you in advance for any information.

The police block it off after so many and you also can't leave my friends daughter went and almost didn't get in she had to cry for them to let her in, also don't use the big black cars that are everywhere for taxis, they aren't really taxis and they rip you off and have been known to rob people, Me and my sisters went a few years back not for New Years but its a amazing place so many people. we stayed and what was considered a cheap hotel and it was like $350.00 a night, It was like in a Korean neighborhood. we had to take a cab to get anywhere, they are really hard to get at night everything there is at least double the price, we went to a Broadway show which I loved but it was like $80.00 and not even a famous one, We took a tour of the city so we could see everything that was really nice. we were only there for 2 days wish I could have stayed longer
