people use scale from post office that they use to mail.
if mail was printed and label on package. mailman or lady picked mails from their home or business.
when mails arrive at post office, post office will mail because label prepaid on packages. if packages were over weight, the post office should have return to original home to pay extra postage.
i wonder why post office go ahead to mail after they weight due over postage to person and person would pick packages at post office after paid overdue postage.
in my past, i mailed one envie and post office return to me for overweight then i took envie to post office to pay overdue postage and mailed to person.
post office go ahead to mail after they may weight overdue to mail and person receive and pay for overdue. person can tell mailman or lady to return to original and original pay overdue postage.
i guess post office does not care just run mails to go thru to destination.

Being mailed too. The person receiving the mail then pays the postage due. I get a few every do often. Just pay the extra. We are rural do can just put the money in an envelope for our mailman. Never had a large amount be postage due so not sure what would happen then
