I get so tired of all the deals I cannot do because I cannot afford the smart phone. I understand why companies do it, it's cheaper for them. Guess I'm just sick of being so poor that I cannot even afford more than a phone for emergencies only that I buy minutes for.
Please tell me I'm not the only one.

DH and myself just have a cheap TracPhone that we take with us on a trip so that we can make an emergency call. It costs us about $20 every 3 months to keep minutes and time on it. We never even use the 60 minutes that we get when we renew it every three months.

got rid of my landline and got a smart phone. I really love it.
My husband and I are on our son's AT&T family account. The monthly charge for my smart phone is less than what I was paying for my landline.

I cannot give up my landline because Magic Jack is so cheap...the yearly cost is less than one month's bill if I had a regular phone bill. If I gave up my landline through MJack the smart phone bill would be more in one month than I pay all year.
I also don't have the advantage of being on a family plan, I live alone and my sister and her husband don't have smart phones either. They, like me don't want to work until the day they die and gave up cable also.
I guess when I really look at it, the deals I'm losing out on are nothing compare to what I save on a monthly basis without cable, smart phone, etc.
That's the way I have learned to accept it.

here would like to get one Perktv lets you get points on your smartphone and heard it is easy. mostly use it when on road picking up kids from school everyday so they can get ahold of me if needed
otherwise $20 every 3 months and I don't have my minutes used by time to renew but I love the price
wouldn't know what to do with a smart phone if I had one took me forever to figure out how to get my messages off the trac phone
