I have many problems with my feet and two years ago I bought some sandals from Avon that were perfect for what my doctor told me I have to have. They were a really lightweight wedge sandal, with a very hard sole and a bit of a platform. Because of my multiple feet issues, I need shoes that have a hard non-flexible sole, a not completely flat bottom, a wedge heel between 1/2 and 1 1/4 inch, they must have a strap or "back" on the shoes and cannot have anything between the toes. It is next to impossible to find shoes like that. I wore those sandals til it snowed coz finding regular shoes like that was even harder, so my feet always flare up in the winter. Anyway, I had 2 pairs and the last one just ripped the strap, so now I am searching for a not too old item. Any suggestions?

Or if you can recommend any other type/brand of shoe, I am willing to try, especially non-sandal ones for the winter. The hardest part is finding a sole that does not bend, just about every single shoes does that these days, they are designed to be "flexible" but unfortunately that makes the degenerative bone disease in my feet act up and make them hurt more.

With the last 5 months of chemo, everything at all that I have is flaring up worse than ever, and I really need to find some shoes that I can wear!

I have a lot of trouble with my feet and have found these to be the very best for support and for what you described. They have many options and are recommended for us folks that have feet problems.

you can tell the sole is going to be flexible by the material. I need a shoe that does not bend. It's almost impossible to tell by a pictures, but I know when I wander the stores I pick up every single shoe and almost every one bends. I need the bottom by the toe to stay perfectly straight. So what usually works is a thick sole 1/2 inch or more, those usually can't bend.

Thanks for the suggestions.
