Does any store take empty ink cartridges? Thanks for info. 1|1|Staples does and gives you a $2 credit for each one turned in|bloobird|bloobird1@comcast.net|09:49:53|06/05/2014|

I have a brand new printer, bought at Staples, and it uses the same exact ink cartridges as my old one and I tried to turn in some of the old cartridges and they would not take them - said that they weren't on their list of acceptable cartridges.

I've been turning Staples cartridges in for over two years now - gathered from everywhere - different kinds. Never even had a clerk look at them other than to count. 6|3|this last time they scanned my cartridges and|20yrrefunder|tradernikki@yahoo.com|14:11:14|06/05/2014|

handed them back to me saying that they no longer accept those numbers. I had about 5 to turn in. They were all the 564 numbers/colors. They still sell these colors/numbers and the brand new printer that I was buying that day also uses those cartridges. bummer

Never been turned away for any brand (ink or toner) but then I spend a TON on supplies at Staples and they know me because I do installs at their stores for work so maybe for me they just look the other way, not sure. I do know that they do have a rule that you have to have had $30 purchased in ink or toner within the last 180 days to even earn your $2 per cartridge return.

I might contact customer service or ask because the HP number you mention are current and are refillable so they should take them to send them in for refill/refurb.

I have had bad luck at Walgreens having them refilled. I won*t do that anymore. Didn*t last 2 weeks.
