Anyone else have this? I work retail, on my feet for hours, my back feels like it's going to crack and my outer thighs go completely numb on me.
The Doctor has given me exercises to do. It may or may not help the pain, but I see no way it is going to stop the pressure on my nerves that cause my numbness.
They said if the exercises don't help in a few weeks to let them know. They mentioned "Celexus" but that would only help the pain, am I right? I don't know how much longer I can work with my legs going numb on me.
Anyone? Suggestions?
Disability is very hard to get and even if I were to get it I doubt the compensation dollar wise would be enough to live on.
I don't make much now as with my physical condition I have only been able to push myself to work 24 hours a week, which isn't even enough to pay my bills.

I am so stressed out about this, any ideas?

Thanks

I know with the auto immune disease I deal with, I can tell when I am eating right that my symptoms are better.

Anti-Inflammation Diet

The University of Maryland Medical Centers lists a variety of dietary changes you can make to reduce your levels of osteoarthritis-related inflammation. They include avoiding refined foods such as sugar, pasta and white bread; reducing your consumption of red meat; avoiding tobacco products, alcohol and caffeine; and reducing your consumption of commercial baked goods and processed snack foods, which commonly contain trans fat. You can also reduce your inflammation risks by increasing your consumption of whole grains, vegetables and fruit; getting dietary protein from lean meat, beans, cold-water fish and soybeans; and drinking six to eight glasses of filtered water each day. In addition, you can increase your consumption of foods known to reduce inflammation, such as pickles, onions, garlic, mustard, celery, horseradish, seeds, nuts and lemons.

It is very effective for arthritis and many ills. Its Protandim. email me if interested.

Watch these 2 videos: www.abcliveit.com

and this one. While it is on a dog, it works the same on humans, except it takes longer.

A woman in my group who had arthristis demonstrated how she was doing deep knee bends after a few months on Protandim.

I very rarely eat pastas or rices, I try and eat more fish, some frozen veggies (although I get sick of these quickly). I am trying to cut down on all sugars, but quite frankly I cannot live on veggies alone. I am trying to eat more protein, but can't afford to buy meat all that often.
I guess if I wanted to drive myself crazy I could survive solely on veggies, lean meats, salads with no dressing, but I think that would last about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the info though, I will check it out. I'm afraid I'm heading for disability since my only way of making a living these days is standing on my feet for hours, and that is not gonna cut it. I'm 60 years old and I doubt I will be able to work even another year with the pain and numbness.

It helps more than you know just to get some encouragement. I am just grateful it wasn't hip replacement surgery or cancer...could always be worse.
Bless you

I have arthiritis just about all over me . The worst is in my lower back.I have dealt with this for many years , but the worst have been the past 5 years .I have had many injections in my lower back. In the beginning i thought these helped quite a lot. Now, i am going to stop them because I am not getting much relief when I have them done. They are very painful and I am just tired of getting them done because the shots are not effective now.If you haven't had them, I would suggest you go try them. You may get alot of relief from them. It sure would be worth a try.I feel sorry for you because the pain in your lower back all the time is enough to drive you crazy.Every day with pain makes you very frustrated and depressed because you feel like you are helpless and some days i even cry . I really don't think their is an answer . Sometimes just pray to take the pain away . I use a heating pad a lot on my back .It seems to help some. I cannot take a lot of medicine that the Dr. wants to give me because they are anti- inflamatory drugs and they really upset my stomach .So , that is not good. They have told me I am not a candidate for surgery. The Dr. said it would not help me . So, I just take one day at a time. I am only 62.I have had it since I was 46. It had just gotten so much worse. How old are you if you don't mind telling me ? You are welcome to email me privately anytime if you like .I do hope someone can help you. I am just telling you my story.I hope and pray that yours doesn't get as bad as mine. Just hang in there and don't give up. Hope this helps. 6|2|Thank You!|COVE|mcdonna3@gmail.com|15:14:38|05/23/2014|

I think in part because it also helps me relax. I use a heat pack & a heating pad, sometimes w/the heat pack on my neck & the heating pad on my back. Don't really want to use that tho now that the temps are warming up.
And sometimes it doesn't help much, like when it's worse due to an impending weather change, so I just have to ride it out & hope whatever weather change is coming comes asap.

Has anyone tried pool therapy or acupuncture to help alleviate pain? Those are both something I haven't tried yet but have been thinking about. Wondering if anyone else has tried either one & had positive results?

I'm sorry you're all having to deal w/so much pain.

When the humidity is high/raining it really kicks in. I think I'm going to try heat and see what happens.
Thanks guys for all the help.

My Doctor has prescribed meds for me. One for inflammation, the other for pain. I sure hope they work and make it easier for me to stand on my job for hours...we'll see, keep me in your prayers, guys.
