You could forward that aol mail to a free one but like you said, you like the format. :)

As my boys got older and needed other internet options to maintain several computers for tournament playing, my husband switched our internet but we kept all our aol email addresses for free.  Occasionally, I get emails about our payments going up, but that is just a glitch in their system.  As far as I can tell, we still get all the AOL options, news, etc., for free.
