at work. The guy was from our power company he said, very nice and making small talk. I said not to be rude but we are a restaurant and busy right now. He said he knew that and was I the owner or manager. I told him I was a manager and he said he was calling about the shut off notice that was to go into effect today. I got my boss and casually said to him that it sounded weird and maybe was a scam. To cut to the chase- he knew our account number, the amount of the bill and a few other details. The bill was actually paid (and not late)but my boss didn't let on to that. The guy told him that in order to not have the power shut off he needed to go to cvs and buy those green dot cards. He is alerting authorities plus the power company but I wanted to let you all know that they are now using the power company. There must be someone on the inside there because my boss said he really had the total of the last bill and the account number. Creepy

Says I can receive a $1,000 in no-cost TruStage Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance. Or more coverage at $1 per $10,000. Wants my signature & included a SASE. Funny thing is, the SASE goes to another state & my bank is a small institution w/only 5 branches in/around my area. There are NO branches in or near the state that's on the SASE. I know it's not legit because if it was, it would've come directly from my bank here in town.
I'll be taking this into my bank tomorrow......

Not worth getting up out of my chair or interrupting my household chores just for some pesky crap calls that are usually scams anyway. I have voice mail & I figure if it's important enough, they'll leave a message. The crap callers never do. ;-P
