What the heck is up with dental these days? The Orthodontist is just as expensive as a regular dentist- over 5k. We're talking an overbite, not like massive crooked teeth and fangs! 1|1|Because that fee usually includes unlimited visits for life. My daughter can return to her orthodontist in her thirties for follow up...with no additional charges|Barb09|Barb.erradi@aol.com|14:04:08|05/03/2014|

if anyone can give me any tips I would appreciate it.

One thing that irks me.........one of then specialists came out with an offer $300 off, plus laser whitening at end of treatment for free for "new patients". Am I a new patient.....NO........but the braces are not even on yet! 3|1|Why did denists get so high too|LindaOH|Lindafmartin47@gmail.com|15:36:15|05/03/2014|

when my kids were small it was $15 a trip $25 with xrays, for my grandson it was usually close to $200, my daughter who is 45 had braces they were $2,000.00 my grandsons were $3,400 and that was with a discount( she used to be married to family member) and I am almost sure its not lifetime visits with us, last words were I've done all I can.I figured they charge so much cause they can, and most people have insurance that pay some of it. 4|1|kdrink|Lorey12|Lorey12@yahoo.com|17:05:13|05/03/2014|

:-D 5|2|Hmmmm. Which do I choose> braces for child or $1,070.00 crown for myself|kdrink|kdrink34@yahoo.com|17:57:20|05/03/2014|

Dental insurance pays very little and the maximum is $1,000.00 lifetime for Orthodontist.
Since when does a crown cost $1070.00? Braces at $5,500.00+?
I started to chew only on the left side of my mouth. I'm sure it will be a matter of time before the fillings on my left side crack. That's pretty much Murphy's law.

OhMyGosh, I don't have an answer to that question but here's some GREAT NEWS. I recently got my braces off. I got them after my son was deployed to Iraq several years ago. I had started grinding my teeth in my sleep and that was creating issues and I already had some teeth issues so my dentist sent me to the orthodontist.

That show Shark Tank (I LOVE IT) had an inventor on the other night who had a "under the skin" facelift. It was a little piece of plastic that you wore over your top teeth up over your gums. They were suppose to help with facial wrinkles. So, $5K for braces is TOO much but maybe if you could call them a facelift and braces that would take some of the sting out of the cost.

I don't think my face is wrinkle free, though :(
