Over the years I have given my inlaws the benifit of the doubt about the way i see them treat my husband and the way they treat his sisters esp 1 of them So last night about 7 I called to tell them my husband is in the hospital I gave them the number My son and I went to see my DH and stayed till 9 pm and no phone call from them I asked my DH if they called and he said no So just now on FB she said last night her phone just kept ringing and she didn't get a chance to call what?? She said she tried this am but no answer I told her he was having a test run and she tells me well don't tell him I called maybe he just didn't want to talk ??? of family difficulties, petty jealousys etc., mostly caused by our Mother. LOL,my Mother would refer to my brother as "Her Handsome prince". My SIL just sat back and never said a word, (God Bless Her) Today, she and I are great friends along with 2 out of my 3 sisters, she is the most fun and she lets my Mother stay with them for months!! Okay, my SIL, Sue, is not just a great friend, she is my HERO!

I guess I'm lucky as I don't have any in-laws to deal with except for 1 brother-in-law & I try to keep my distance from him as much as possible lest I speak my mind & tell him just what we ALL think of him which isn't much. I don't want to alienate my sister so I don't say much, & really, it's her call anyway as it's her husband & her life.
But your in-laws sound alot like him in that they're pretty thick & just don't get it. I'm sure Gary & his sisters don't speak up to their parents out of respect for them. It's understandable & commendable but yea, it can drive you crazy to see people you love & care about being treated like crap by those who are also supposed to love & care about them.
