Does anyone know why a cat would pull out her fur?
I would appreciate any input as to why this is happening. NO fleas, mites, etc. But she won't stop pulling out her fur.
Thanks in advance! :)

1|1|change her food? many times some wet foods cause allergies. |sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|10:11:38|01/19/2014|

mom had a cat that pulled ton of fur out; after many doctor visits, BY CHANCE we figured out when he was eating one type of cat food he was fine.

so, it was a food allergy. 2|2|Do you remember what food your mom switched to?|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|10:48:48|01/19/2014|

has there been any changes to:
the cat's routine
people in the house
change to the cat's food (not necessarily any issue with the new
food, but just the fact that it is DIFFERENT)

There is likely something upsetting the cat and that is why it
is mutilating itself. Not unlike a teenager "cutting" themselves.
It's a form of stress relief/release.

that did the same thing by biting its legs. We had had our first baby and when she started toddling, she would go after the bird's cage. She's shake it or make loud noises around it. We kept having to move the cage to different rooms. So moving around and the noise and activity of the toddler freaked the bird out and it would gnaw on itself. We ended up giving the bird to my mom whose home was much calmer than ours. It did well there, although would still gnaw on its legs occasionally. But overall, much better environment for it.

maybe go to dry for a few days and see if you see a change.
or go to a different BRAND -- not flavor-- of wet.

I think that cat was allergic to anything Friskie. But I think you'd have to test it out. 6|4|Check for Worms or |Mightymom7492|Lawaw1974@att.net|06:25:09|01/23/2014|

My brother had a cat and he was pulling out his own hair. Found out he had ring worms and it makes the cat's pull out their hair cuz it itches there skin. Also, do you have other cats? They could be pulling out his hair on him or he can be having stress from something in the house.
