Well, 2014 is just shaping up to be a crummy year.

My CA125 is way up and a few of those little spots that just wouldn't go away have shown an increase in size, so next Monday I start chemo again. It will be a set of 3 drugs, all of which I've done before, so hopefully will react the same as last time, which wasn't too bad other than raising my blood pressure. It is once every 28 days, so that's good, I much prefer that schedule to the every Monday, or 4 days in a row I did for a while. As my dr. said, this is a chronic condition, I will be facing this off and on forever, I was just hoping to off time would last a lot longer. It has been 14 months since my last chemo, so that was nice, and glad it wasn't before the holidays.

As I posted earlier, my dog passed away during the night on New Years Day. She was 14 years old.

My son's car is not driveable. A friend thinks he can fix it for a few hundred dollars in parts (no charge from him to do the work). DH is looking for the parts at the junkyard, but we have to wait til the weather warms up a little so he can work on it outside, or else tow it to his house so he can work on it in his garage. We'll have to see how it goes. Meanwhile, we had to take him back to college yesterday, and he's there without a car. He borrowed DH's van last week and had "a little trouble" getting in the parking garage, he scraped up the whole passenger side of the van, tore off the running board. My hubby's had that van 11 years, first damage to it, we are hoping to get a few more years out of it coz we don't need another car payment!

My new health insurance policy went into effect this month, but Blue Cross took out the money for a policy that was canceled, I have tried calling them three days and been stuck on hold over 90 minutes and my darn phone keeps dying bcfore I get thru. I need my money back, I don't have an extra $370 that I can wait around for, they took it out 12/31, and my new insurance was taken out 12/26 for close to the same amount, and now I have no money left in the acct. til I reach them and get it back! And I have 5 prescriptions to go pick up tomorrow, 2 blood pressure and 3 for my chemo, insurance pays but not til I meet my deductible and it's only January, so of course I haven't (but after my first chemo, I will, aren't I lucky, everything else for the year will be covered, I will just have to add this to the huge amount I owe from the last few years).

My phone won't hold a charge for very long, I need a new battery, but we got hit with all that nasty snow and there haven't been any plows down the sub. DH got us stuck going to the dr. and again coming home, but he was able to get us out, I don't think I want to try it. Especially with the very cold weather we have and getting colder the next 2 days.

I have two other doctor appointments tomorrow, going to try to cancel in the morning if they don't hit me with a charge because I didn't give enough notice. Just not in the mood to deal with these (hand specialist for my trigger finger and carpal tunnel and foot dr. for various problems with my feet). I should try to get in though, coz after I start chemo the foot dr. won't really be able to do anything on my feet because my immune system will be too low. I should have gotten the teeth pulled like the dentist wanted earlier this year, I have been having pain off and on caused by gum disease caused by chemo, and he said the only way it will stop hurting is to have them pulled and put in a bridge. I didn't want to do that until I had to, but he won't consider it when I am doing chemo, so looks like I will have to live with that too. Even if I did it this week, it wouldn't be healed by the time I start chemo.

My mailman hasn't come down our street, I have no idea if he will even try, the mail is usuaully here by 1, so looks like my stuff didn't go out today, sorry to my traders who have orders sitting in my mailbox. DH is out shoveling in front of the mailbox in case he still shows up tonight. We may get more snow, it was snowing when we came home a little while ago, but looks like it stopped.

Waa waa waa, sorry to be so whiny. ON the bright side, we did get my son safely back to college, my car is running fine, everybody else in my family is doing well, hubby is still working, so I still have a lot to be thankful for.
