It's going to be pretty wicked out there for a couple days or so w/DANGEROUS below zero temps & windchills anywhere from 35 to as much as 60 BELOW zero. Temps will be warmer tomorrow but will start falling by late afternoon. Many schools are already announcing they'll be closed for Mon, possibly Tues. as well.
Stock up, stay put & stay warm! And pray for everyone's safety!

It was crazy in town here too so I think most people are aware of what we're in for. It always gets crazy when bad weather is coming. Can't believe it's supposed to hit almost 30° tomorrow before the big freeze moves in. No wonder a person aches all over & people get crazy. LOL
All I have to do tomorrow is top off the gas in my vehicle & I'll be all set to stay put for a few days. I like to keep the tank above half when it's this cold, just in case, & so I don't have to worry about the fuel line freezing up.
I just worry about my mom & her pipes, etc.

I loved growing up there, well, not when you have to shovel them though. I was coming that way this week, or my mom was coming this way, but then we both decided to stay off the roads until this passes. Stay safe.

this has me remembering how bitter it was that day, was having a c-section but had to travel an hour to the hospital, praying our car did not break down.

colder than originally predicted. Just praying we don't lose power and heat or that will be the end of us here. No way to keep warm without it in that horrible weather plus daughter on vent needs the electric..generator can only run for so long etc. Please pray for us and everyone that will be affected by this cold and heavy snowfall coming our way. Now under a winter storm warning here instead of watch...close to a foot or maybe more of snow for us. Geez...just got plowed out day before yesterday and here we go again. Stay safe and warm everyone! God bless you all and keep you safe and warm! PS...don't forget about the outdoor pets! Normally our dog just LOVES cold weather..colder the better for him! However this is sooo dangerous we brought his old crate up from the garage and will be bringing him inside. Good thing he was originally crate raised so shouldn't be a issue for him. Even our outdoor cat (never been indoors) we rounded up daughter's old metal guinea pig cage and going to use it as a cat cage to bring him in as he most likely would not survive otherwise. Gotta take care of our furry friends! :) 7|2|Kathy, we are also under a winter storm warning already. My husband is out working in Iowa, but one neighbor will do my driveway and another the walkways. I will do the porches.|DAVESBABYDOLL|SSTRIFF@woh.rr.com|11:27:21|01/04/2014|

IF (I pray it doesn't happen for any of us) But IF we lose power, we have a new generator that will do the entire house, the neighbor will hook it up.
We already have so much snow on the ground from Hercules (8") but on a positive note..I am OFF this weekend and Monday and Tuesday, which was just a fluke, but I'm thankful.

I'm stocked on food etc.

Everyone, please be safe and stay warm !

Get some of those solar lights (for the walkway, driveway) and have them charged up by the sun and bring them indoors. They make for a wonderful light in case you do not have power. I have about 6 of them sitting in the windowsills right now getting solar powered up. Hope this helps somebody - but hope we do not need this information. The cheap little ones only cost about $1 at WalMart, etc.

The parking lot at Walmart down the road was packed. You would have thought it was Black Friday again.Peoples carts were filled to the brim.Talked to my niece on facebook and she said Terre Haute wss the same way.Another said another one in Indiana was packed and people were really stocking up.Could hardly get down the aisles as was packed with carts and hard to get around. The shelves were getting bare .No kidding.Never seen so empty shelves there.Stay safe people,it is going to be downright cold.My friend went to another store (Kroger)and people were lined up outside waiting on carts.
