Hi
I have a friend who is finally getting out of her abusive marriage, however the husband is taking her jeep. It's a piece of junk, but it at least gets her and her daughter from point A to point B. The jeep is in his fathers name so he does have the right.
Her friends parents are giving her a jeep that they have had and not used in several years. It needs work. The most expensive part is the tires. I'm trying to help her find tires (four), but they are so expensive. Any suggestions? We live in Maine and soon it will start to snow. She pays daycare... she pays rent to her sister... it costs her $50 a week in gas for this vehicle. It leaves her with barely any money to buy food.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My DH buys a lot of used tires for his farm equipment at a used tire shop here. He does know the owner though. Maybe a trusted "man" can go with you (or her) and help do the picking out. Seems that a woman alone gets taken advantage of a lot nowdays. HTH

The places that sell new also have some used. New she'll have to spend $500, used $300 still a lot of money for her. For anyone.
