W have security blue HMO and I just receined my books and letter stating that of Jan. 1 my HMO will go down $27.00 that is from $47.00 each to $20.00 a mt -also my co pay to my specialist will go down from $45.00 to $40.00-my primary care doctor visit will stay the same $15.00--in PA. we have pace and pacenet which is paid for by the lottery - we pay $8.00 for generic and $15.00 for brand medicine or we can get them through our HMO which did not change from last year. why is everone so against something that may be really good for our young people--give it a chance----when social security first came out I bet people thought it was awful--now take a poll and ask what the American people think of it- violet 1|1|I think the key word in your statement is "may" |teener|teenerzacsneenee@yahoo.com|17:54:53|10/17/2013|

My newly married daughter just got a letter their health insurance is going from 75.00 a month to 175.00. 3|1|Not necessarily better for young people. ..|Tiggy|DealzMartin@aol.com|09:07:39|10/18/2013|

they are the ones that are typically healthier. Their newly increased premiums are being used to cover the costs of less healthy plan participants, typically older adults (but not always). While it may be beneficial to society as a whole to have better insurance covering more people, some else is shouldering the burden of its costs.

And no I am not one of the younger, healthier people on the hook paying for our new health care. 4|1|Family's plan is going up $500/month|dragonmom|sueedelmann@yahoo.com|18:50:51|10/24/2013|

Yes, we have expensive insurance here in MI. We have a $5000 deductible and 20% co-insurance on our current plan. The new one will have same deductible, but copays for dr. going from $25 to $50.

We talked to our insurance agent, we are putting me on Blue Cross for $400/month, family on a different plan for $800/month. With the family deductible, BC does not pay til family deductible is met, so would cost us a lot more just for me, so they are on their own. Currently we pay $700/month for insurance.

Our insurance agent said one component of the new law is that they cannot charge seniors more than 3x what they charge younger, healthier adults, so that means the younger ones are going to probably end up paying way more than they need in order to cover what seniors pay. Right now they are allowed to charge seniors 5x what they charge younger adults.

advantage plans have doubled in some cases and there are fewer benefits. Other people not on medicare are paying more as well. It isn't a fair system. 6|1|And you said yourself that your insurance premiums are subsidized by the state lottery.....most people dont have that to help with premium costs. The ones being hardest hit are those that have individual insurance polices, not group.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:29:23|11/05/2013|
