I finally got approved for food stamps but it will be 7-10 days until I get the card. I am on vacation and go back next Thursday so I sure hope it comes while I am off. We have another hearing date for Nov. 4, the last one was continued. Hopefully this one won't be and we can get approved for the workmans comp and get my husband in for a MRI. It's stupid, he has been dealing with pain since 8/26 and has run out of pain meds and can not get any. I am two months behind in my house payment but have managed to keep up with the utilities so far. If we don't get the hearing next month then we will be back to getting shut off notices then. I worked 9 straight days(someone called off) just so I would have enough this check to pay the phone and electric bill will a little left over for gas. I don't have alot of coupons but have been clipping what I can get my hands on :) so that I am ready to go grocery shopping when the card does come. We get so much for this month and then more added on Nov. 1st so by then we have a good bit on the card so there is no reason we will hurt for food during this time. I just wish they would have cleared it sooner so I could have saved the money I did have to spend on food. My husband sold his mini lap top for $100 last week just so we could buy food. While I am on vacation I am going to try and do anothet goodie box since I will be cleaning out my closets to see what I have. The last one didn't go well so maybe this one will. There is a store near here that is in an old WalMart store (not a Supercenter) and they carry everything, including furniture. A lot of clothes, of course, but it is like a department store. They take a certain percentage for their own and you get the rest - not real sure what it is - maybe 60/40. Even finding a clothes only consignment store might help you get rid of some of your nicer, not needed clothing. I think that men's good clothing around here is in big demand. They sell more things in the winter because garage sales are done. HTH

:) 10|5|I know from leading coupon forums in IL that at least in Illinois, you have to have the money to pay the sales tax on the amount you used coupons on...even with food stamp card. the card is used for food only and the tax that is on certain drinks is also covered. I know that from working retail for so long and having people use their card.
