This morning I go to make lunches and find a huge puddle of water in front of the fridge. Everything in the freezer has completely melted and the ice from the icemaker has dripped down all night on everything (that's what the puddle is from). And nothing in the fridge is even slightly cool. Just did a major grocery trip this weekend too, threw away a ton of meat from the freezer, plus things I put in the fridge for today and tomorrow. I could cry, I threw away 2 gallons of ice cream, 5 packages of ground beef, two packages of pork chops (family pack with 8 each), one pot roast, one pork roast, 3 packages of chicken breasts, stew meat, stir fry beef, 3 boxes of Red Baron pizzas, 6 boxes of Totinos rolls (they were on sale this weekend), 10 bags of different frozen veggies, 6 or 7 frozen dinners, Jose Ole tacos big box, 4 boxes of waffles, a bag of pancakes, 4 bags of frozen potatoes, Tyson Anytizers, Banquet chicken, 5 different lunch meats from the deli, Oscar Mayer bologna, hot dogs, mayo, miracle whip, chocolate & white milk, leftovers from Saturday and Sunday.

The worst part is a lot of the frozen stuff I got on sale with double coupons and Meijer no longer doubles, so it is going to cost me a lot more to replace it all. And I have a bunch of meat in this freezer and my deep freezer downstairs, I stocked up when I got my hands on the meat and pork tags.

I did not throw away the cheese, butter/margarine, salad dressings, ketchup, mustard, produce (onions, lettuce, apples, broccoli, carrots, celery), jars of pickles (they ar opened), bbq sauce, V8 Juice, apple juice, orange juice, or applesauce cups. I think those should be ok, but if anybody knows different, please let me know. I don't want anybody getting sick, but I hate to throw away any more food.

Thanks, Sue Edelmann

Happened here, but covered by Sears Maintenance...took them 9 days to show up and fix it...

Took pictures of all the food we had to discard...sometimes homeowners insurance covers it.

Nothing prepares us true "shoppers/savers" for that sick feeling of wasted food !!!!
