I want to try the grass fed beef too, I heard it can be gamey? Is that true? 10|3|we raise cattle:|20yrrefunder|tradernikki@yahoo.com|19:38:05|10/06/2013|
We raise registered Angus cattle - each one with papers - just like pedigreed dogs. We very seldom eat one of ours because we sell the young bulls to people needing a bull and we usually keep our heifers (young female cows) to breed to the bulls when they are older. But, once in awhile, we cannot sell one for some reason, so DH will fatten it up on grain and all the grass or hay that it can eat. Very good, lean meat. A friend of ours eats one of his every year and does not feed it any grain at all, but just the grass on the ground or hay, if it is in the winter. Anyway, a few years ago, he called me in a panic because he had just picked up his meat at the packing house and it did not all fit in his freezer and wanted to know if I had room for some meat. So, I ran over there and brought home a couple of huge boxes of hamburger and put it in my freezer. (We have 2 freezers). Of course, he insisted that we eat some of his hamburger. I did reach for one of his packages of ground beef, thawed it out, proceeded to cook it and I thought it smelled awful and tasted awful. So, did the rest of my family. Yes, I would say that it was "gamey" tasting. That is the only grass fed beef that I have had and don't want any more. HTH

I've heard it tastes a bit off, I just didn't want to buy it and it ending up tasting like venison. I can't stand venison. Thank you for the information, very interesting.
13|3|Yes, it's kind of gamey tasting....|Sharon|sforshee@hughes.net|12:32:38|10/11/2013|
had to get used to the taste. Grass-fed meats have a very dark reddish color compared to grain-fed meats you see in stores. 14|4|I'll have to pass on it then :(|cinda68|null@yahoo.com|12:47:04|10/11/2013|
I wish it weren't gamey, I can't do that at all. I know the meat is much cleaner and healthier but just can't do it if it is gamey. Thank you for the info. 8|2|only thing I buy !!!|pattyo|pattyolc@aol.com|03:59:04|10/06/2013|

Would you ever have thought that they glue pieces of meat together with this meat glue to make a steak?
Do you think they sell meat at the grocery store that has been glued together?
I bet whomever does this doesn't want to tell you they do it because you would not want to buy or eat the meat.
