Daughter who lives in IL has had something major happen to her. Trying to get in to see a Neurologist but only has Medicaid and there is a wait. (soo stupid as when you need help you need it NOW!) anyhooo...has symptoms of mini strokes (has problems talking..stuttering..words dragging waaay out trying to say them...headaches...depression). Been to ER two times..did a Xray and a MRI...told her no sign of stroke but told her brain is stressed to the max. She is trying to get SSI as she can't work now. They send her home each time she tries to go in to work..she just can't function well enough to do her job (McD manager).
She lives in Bloomington IL and hope you can give me info/ links to help for her. She has a son and her beau is helping her but he can't work trying to take care of her etc. Any info will be appreciated! She is going to public aid first of next week and applying also for the heating/electric help. She does get food stamps currently as well and hopefully that will go up due to her not working now. Thanks so much again for any help for her. It's MUCH appreciated! 1|1|Hi, just saw this. I will look tomorrow for you. Hope DD feels better soon.|Ranalt|ainebailey@gmail.com|21:14:34|09/28/2013|

Its worth a phone call and not sure about your state, but here when you are in the process of waiting on SSI, SSDI application to be approved/denied and/or are on appeal, you can qualify for G.A. benefits (assuming you meet the assest testing). 4|2|What is OPA? Is that public aid? If so, she has to go back tomorrow as line was waaaay around out the door when they got there the other day. Thanks!!|Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|19:42:06|09/29/2013|

Your DD is blessed to live in a town with an abundance of charities. In all my time researching help, I have never seen a town so blessed.

Have your DD start here:
This site tells you what benefits you are eligible for after entering in your information.
I love this site. It sometimes finds programs that are overlooked or unknown.
Government Benefits

Since she already gets food stamps and medicaid, she might or might not be eligible for TANF.
I believe she will qualify for it.

6|2|Yes, OPA is public assistance and Ranault is correct, a family can qualify for SNAP, SSI, Medicaid and TANF all at the same time.......|kdrink|kdrink34@yahoo.com|22:18:56|09/29/2013|
