I have a living room in which my walls are all rough pine.
My floor is Purgo and ceiling has 2x6 beams with sheet rock.
It is painted blue for the sky and has clouds.
My problem is that my cats had sprayed
in 2 corners and I now have stains. (not to mention cat smell)
I am using murphy oil (slightly moistened) on the purgo and
not sure what to do on the walls.
Also my parlor set is like swede. I have (lap blankets) on them
and will wash them but I can still smell "cat" on them. Do you
think Febreeze will do the trick??
Any help would be appreciated. Want to ask before I make matters
worse. LOL. 1|1|As for any spraying that got on the floor, Pergo is a 'floating floor' style, so liquids will get under the surface....you may have to take up the flooring and clean the liner/underflooring to get rid of the odor.....as for the suede, that will be tricky, but maybe try straight baking soda sprinkled liberally on it, let it set overnight, then vacuum it up.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|12:38:27|09/11/2013|

Thank you so much for the responses. This is not looking
too encouraging. Is there anything that I can use on the
rough pine ?? Maybe spray vinegar?? 4|4|WHEN WE MOVED INTO OUR LAST HOUSE UP ON LONG ISLAND|JOYHAPPYONE|DAIDOLA5@AOL.COM|19:09:07|09/11/2013|

WE HAD A CRAWL SPACE IN WHICH WE DISCOVERED, PEOPLE BEFORE US HAD KEPT CATS IN THERE........AFTER THE SMOKE SMELL FROM THE SMOKING FIREPLACE FADED AWAY, WE WERE LEFT WITN A STRONG ODOR OF CAT PEE.........I TRIED EVERYTHING BUT NOTHING WORKED, THEN ONE DAY OUT OF ANGER, I HAD A BOX OF DRY SPIC AND SPAN.............I TOOK HANDFULLS AND TOSSED THEM UNDER THE CRAWL SPACE, WITHIN A FEW DAYS, THE SMELL WAS COMPLETELY GONE...........OF COURSE IN OUR CASE, I TOSSED THE SPIC AND SPAN AFTER MY SONS HAD TO GO UNDER THERE WITH SHOVELS AND BUCKETS AND CLEAN OUT THE REST OF THE CAT STUFF............BUT WE LIVED THERE FOR 25 YEARS WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS...............SO THIS IS WORTH A TRY, AND YOU CAN WASH THE COVERS ETC WITH IT MIXED IN WATER TOO 5|5| Thank you so much.|countrygirl|electricunit@cs.com|19:21:23|09/11/2013|

In a pail of water, mix in some baking soda & peroxide. You can add a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid if you want to, but I don't think it's needed for this problem. But this mix (w/the Dawn) actually gets the smell of skunk pee out of your clothes, off your dog, etc., so it may very well work on cat pee.

The recipe below is for skunk pee:

Mix 10 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1 part baking soda in a pail of water. Add a few drops of Dawn dishwashing soap and pour into a spray bottle.
Spray liberally over dry coat and allow to air dry. Avoid eyes. Works on inanimate objects, too!

The time I needed it, I just bathed my dog in the bathtub w/1 C. baking soda, a whole large bottle of peroxide & a few drops of Dawn to a bathtub filled 1/4 full of warm water. Worked like a charm!
And when I had to re-launder our clothes because of it, I just added 1/2 C. baking soda, 1/2 C. peroxide & a few drops of Dawn to the reg. wash cycle w/my usual amount of laundry detergent.
Keep in mind that peroxide is a bleaching agent so you don't want to use too much of it on colored items, like carpet, cloth furniture, clothes, etc.

Tami. Glad that I had read your whole recipe (to the
end). My love seat and recliner are beige. My couch
is a royal blue. I did have lap blankets to cover them.
They didn't spray on them but have fur on the blankets
(in which I am going to wash. I can smell a slight odor
from them laying on the furniture. I just like it fresh
smelling and figure if I can smell it anyone that comes
to visit can.
The cat pee was sprayed in 2 corners of the room. They
had sprayed on the wall (which is rough pine) and it
ran down onto my pergo floor.
