I just surfaced from a very rough chemo treatment - did not lift my head from the pillow for two days, but when I did there were several cards waiting for me and I just know that someone from RS was thoughtful enough to suggest cards and you guys responded.
As an update:
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February of 2012. Unfortunately with ovarian cancer, there are no symptoms until you are stage III or IV and seriously ill. I had major surgery two days after diagnosis to remove a 5" tumor, and went through an intense round of chemo throughout most of 2012. It was brutal - ever side effect imaginable hit me - extreme nausea, pain, loss of hair, diminished eyesight, tiredness. Each chemo infusion required a 36 hour stay in the hospital since my body could not handle the toxic chemicals and had to be infused at an extremely slow dosage.
By December, I was exhausted, but two weeks later, the cancer came back. My oncologist said he had never seen such an aggressive cancer. He took out a second tumor, and another round of chemo was scheduled. This treatment only lasted a couple of months before we realize it wasn't working either since the cancer was spreading.
In July of this year, I was put into a clinical trial - the only person in the State of NV - and it involves a monthly chemo plus 3 injections following the chemo that truly make one sick. But we hope.
At this point, I am physically weak, and trying hard not to be discouraged. But for all of you who have brightened my day, I thank you. Your kindness and taking the time to write was so very appreciated.

You are right - it really isn't important who started it. People who have kind hearts are special and don't seek out recognition.
Was just looking over my "trading card file," and I have over 3,000 successful and wonderful interactions over the past 20 years - thank you all and I'm still looking forward to some more for as long as I can.

this, a few years back I went to my GYN and he did his usual examination, but this time it was very and I mean very painful. He said it shouldn't hurt like that and he wanted me to do an ultra sound and a sonogram. After the tests he said there was something suspicious and wanted to do surgery. Well to make a long story short, my left ovary was full of cancer (as he says just waiting to do it's thing) so he took it out as well as the right one.at my age I didn't need them.
So if any of you are in any PAIN DURING AN EXAMINATION HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AS TO WHY.
So I will continue to really pray hard for you.

Ovarian cancer usually has no symptoms until you are Stage III or IV.... usually bloating or pelvic pain - also indigestion.
It also has an 80% re-occurence rate

Bloating and some gas, who goes to the doctor for that right away? It's much worse than breast cancer, these days that seems to have very good success and survival rates, while ovarian is much harder to detect, much harder to treat and like she said, has a huge recurrence rate. While somebody who is "clear" after 7 years for breast cancer is considering out of danger, that is never true for us ovarian cancer patients.
