Asking for prayers & cards for a very special young lady who lost her 1 1/2 yr old on Monday. Many of you have traded with myself & v8bonds over the years & on Monday Bridget's niece lost her precious angel Reedon. Reedon was born November 1, 2011 with CHARGE Syndrome.
CHARGE syndrome is a rare disorder that arises during early fetal development and affects multiple organ systems. The term CHARGE comes from the first letter of some of the more common features seen in these children:
(C) = coloboma and cranial nerve abnormalities defects of the eyeball
(H) = heart defects
(A ) = atresia of the choanae (blocked nasal breathing passages)
(R) = retardation of growth and development
(G) = genital and urinary abnormalities
(E) = ear abnormalities and hearing loss
In addition to the CHARGE features, most children with CHARGE syndrome have other features, including characteristic facial features, cleft lip or palate, esophageal atresia (blind-ending food pipe) or tracheoesophageal fistula (connection between the wind pipe and the food pipe)resulting in the placements of a feeding tube. The symptoms of CHARGE syndrome vary greatly from one child to another. The exact cause of CHARGE is not known. Most cases occur randomly, for no apparent reason.
God saw Reedon thru some very difficult battles early on but on Monday God decided he needed another angel & called Reedon home. Reedon's passing was very unexpected as he had been doing so well.
Bridget & myself would greatly appreciate it if you guys could take the time to send this devoted young mother a card along with your prayers & words of encouragement as she tries to cope with the loss of her precious baby. She was the ultimate caregiver never giving up hope & allowing Reedon to live as normal a life as possible for the short time he was on this earth.
