I had a lady want to trade me 2 of my $5 Gift cards for one of
her $10 forms. My thinking is that my gift cards are worth $10
when you take them to the restaurant. $10 is $10 no matter whether
it's cash or a gift card, right? So am I wrong thinking that I should
get 10 forms for them instead of just one?

what if the clearing house didn't pay (for whatever reason) the $10 but of course the $10 gift card was like cash--worth $10.
There's always that possibility...
??

I wouldn't trade $10 cash for a $10 form, so wouldn't trade $10 in gift cards for a $10 form. I'd look at the gift card value as cash, and if you wouldn't pay that much cash for a form, I wouldn't trade a gift card for it. Heck, I wouldn't pay more than $1 for a form coz I'm cheap, so if they wanted more than that, I'd pass on the trade. That's just how I would look at it. What would you pay/trade for a form? Gift cards are actual cash, if you wouldn't trade $10 for 1 form, wouldn't trade $10 gcs for it.

That's the way I see it. She said that since I would be getting back $10 eventually that it
had the same value! I'm thinking "No way in H*ll is it the same". Glad everyone is on the same page as me!

Even a $5 gc is way too much for a $10 form. A $10 form's trading value is no more than 10%, so a $1 (could very well be less as this also depends on if the form is well/over circulated, reducing its value to 75¢, 50¢ or less). You should receive at least 10 $10 forms for you $10 in gc's.

if you get forms from person and you mail form with complete deal and you may get money back or reject .
you may not know if you will get refund check or not.
