...in wages. The national minimum wage should be raised to at least $10/hour. I would certainly support such a move. Service workers have the power but are too disorganized on a national level, to affect any change. If all service workers (restaurant/fast food, hospitality) worked as a group and they all could afford to strike...real change in wages may occur. 2|2|I agree with raising the minimum wage...but honestly, I know of MANY college graduates sporting $40,000 plus loans that are coming out of college and barely able to start out at $15 and hour|kellysp6637|frugalk76@aol.com|07:52:50|08/30/2013|

so frankly, I feel it's a slap in the face to many college graduates in debt up to their eyeballs to just expect a fast food worker start out at $15. There's nothing wrong with working fast food, but if one wants to be making wages of that of college graduates, then they too should be willing to take out the loans, and go to school to eventually put themselves in a position to make a higher wage. 3|1|They're referred to entry-level positions for a reason...|Tiggy|DealzMartin@aol.com|11:39:25|08/30/2013|

training and/or education usually leads to a better income.

I worked at multiple entry level (low wage) positions to put
myself through college. Many times I worked 2 jobs....so
it can be done. 5|2|totally agree Tiggy. It's insane that they feel they are *entitled* to $15 per hour...when I know of substitute teachers with BACHELORS degree are only making $10-$14 an hour in |kellysp6637|frugalk76@aol.com|12:17:33|08/30/2013|

many schools.....I hate this ridiculous everyone "deserves" mentality. The only thing people "deserve" is the opportunity to better one's self through hard work and determination. Nobody automatically deserves something just because others may make $15 or more per hour.

I know that may sound harsh, but really, I was a single mom and worked two jobs while putting myself through college part time....took forever to do, but I did it and obtained a degree.....I have a fantastic job now, but I also have about $35,000 in student debt......and it was VERY exhausting, but I was determined to provide a better life for myself and my child. 4|1|Praying they get an increase|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|11:43:51|08/30/2013|

Those who prepare our food work hard and should be able to feed their own families at home. 6|1|My daughter has a CNA cert and works caring for our elderly and helpless....and SHE doesn't make $15 hr. I think giving that as pay at McDs is silly. I hope they get something more....but more than medical workers???? Who would do the work people like my DD do for less than McDs pay!?!?|Barb09|Barb0969@AOL.com|13:13:35|08/30/2013|
