grew up a mile from Lake Michigan...used to love to walk along the beach. It is also were my husband and I went on our first date, when I was fifteen. Went recently with my mom, little sisters, my daughters and granddaughters, took lots of pictures and it was such a beautiful day.
I also remember a summer, when my teen uncle and I snuck into my grandmothers garden, he got out a pocket knife and we sat out there eating a watermelon. It was bad but it was good, he died from cancer not long after, so it is one of my most favorite memories.

probably staying at my best friends house and skating, swimming eating all kinds of goodies that I never had home. She had everything and it was like a vacation.

I can remember my Mom spreading a blanket out on the lawn for me and I would spread all my Barbie dolls out and play with them for hours under our big oak tree. Not a worry in the world! Boy those sure were the days.......now we have to worry nobody pulls up in a van and snatches your child right off the front yard and even little things like fire ants and bee stings and poison ivy seem so much worse now. Are they?? Plus it gets so dang HOT out that kids just want to stay inside where it's cool and play video games!
