Live simply so that other's may simply live!!!!!!

I have a great receipe 2|2|My guess would be a crock pot would be difficult, because no stove to brown meat on. Although, you should bring it anyway, you could do cut up hotdogs, and beans one night, and have it waiting, when you get home. I am sure if look through websites, you may find some other ideas. |dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|17:00:12|07/13/2013|

it sounds like a big hasel to me trying to cook and clean up. I'd take breakfast cereal, poptarts and some snack foods with with me and fix breakfast as late in the day as I could then eat a snack around 1 or 2 then look for all you can eat buffets or maybe the kids eat free fast food and eat around 5 or 6 and no ordering soda or any drinks to keep down the cost,( you can always get the big ones at gas stations really cheap and even share)take your own water bottles and fill them up at water fountains would also save a bunch, find out the places to eat around there and go on their web sites they may have coupons hth Linda 4|1|pack a cooler & crock pot. brown up hamb or ground turkey at home then freeze. and cook up some bacon, crumble, freeze. bring with in cooler, then store in fridge at motel. then do sloppy joes in crock pot 1 day. also could do chili, more inside|turdra|tammyjoblake@hotmail.com|14:04:11|07/14/2013|

another nite do a crockpot dish with rice, your cooked up meat, canned veggies, seasonings. could also do calico beans in the crockpot with your cooked up hamburger, cooked bacon,5 cans different cans beans, bring a bowl with the calico beans wet ingrediants (brown sugar, ketchup, worchester sauce, mustard, etc) store in fridge with meat then dump all together in crockpot cook on low all day. many, many various crockpot meals you could do, just plan ahead, freeze cooked meats to take with, bring your ingrediants or list of ingrediants to buy at the local store where you're staying, bring your utensils/bowls/plates, bring your largest crockpot and figure out everything you'll need to make 7 meals for the week. can always do sanwiches for lunches, with fresh fruit and chips. hopefully, your motel has a continental breakfast, then you can eat breakfast free each morning. good luck!!!

Please leave feedback if we've traded, thanks!
http://www.refundsweepers.com/dcforum/feedback/774.html 5|2|also, if your motel does have the continental breakfast, ask if you can use that room to eat your evening meal. most are pretty easygoing and should let you, then you can use that sink to wash your dishes and have tables to eat at. i would keep my crockpot in my own room though, and carry it down to breakfast room, as you don't want others messing in your crockpot while gone all day.|turdra|tammyjoblake@hotmail.com|14:07:57|07/14/2013|

Go to Costco or your grocery store, buy a few ready cooked roitesserie chickens, hard boil some eggs, bring some shredded cheese, salad dressing, dinner rolls, salad greens, large paper bowls. You can make a variety of meals from these ingredients. You can also scrabble eggs in the microwave. Just mix the eggs and heat a few minutes at a time, stir in between. Bacons will have to be precooked at home.
7|2|What about a using a electric skillet, that way you could make everything from breakfast to dinner. |HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|15:58:57|07/14/2013|

o I used a electric skillet everyday when I use to live at a hotel, used it for 3 years straight, it was great, cooked many meals in it! To fry, grill, stew, roast, and bake without much effort

yes, i carry a case of water in the car and a cooler. a bag of ice is cheap and then I refill it for free at the hotel. cases of water are cheap and of you really want to splurge so are other things like gatorade depending on where you buy it.

in your small fridge keep tortilla shells and make sandwiches with them for supper. We eat turkey and even make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the tortilla shells. Other ideas: fruit (even from the breakfast bar), power bars, egg beaters in the microwave and salsa on the tortilla shells, hot dogs, popcorn, etc.

I try to eat healthier with the fruit and turkey tortillas, but even the egg beaters is healthy. It is so expensive to eat out especially with a large family. Never order the drinks, heck that can account for $15 or more. good luck 10|1|I would try to do freezer meals...like the sloppy joes, I would make, and freeze in a ziplock, (spreading it flat,)..then you have to just thaw and heat...|Quietwaters|Quietwaters39@hotmail.com|07:23:58|07/15/2013|

I would do the same with taco filling, or chicken fahitas. Even something like a meatloaf, can be frozen. I would think all this would stay pretty much frozen in a cooler, then put it in the little hotel freezer if there is room.

11|1|You can also use those portable electric burners. If you want to make pasta you could use that to boil it on one|lv2qpon|jcummins1@rochester.rr.com|16:20:47|07/15/2013|

electric burner and the sauce on another. The skillet is also a great idea to cook meat in.
With electric burners, it is like having a portable stove. The more you have, the more flexibility you have. We used to use those all the time in the motel when we got tired eating out. Of course, you have to take pots and pans and utensils but those don't take up that much space. 12|1|Some thoughts|dragonmom|sueedelmann@yahoo.com|08:39:31|07/16/2013|

You can do a pot roast or pork roast in the crockpot, no need to brown meat, just put in with veggies (you can have them cut up in bags to bring with you) and add seasonings, I love the pot roast crockpot seasoning packs. You can do a lasagna in the crockpot with no cook noodles, use precooked sausage/ground beef from home. There are some really awesome crock pot chicken recipes, don't need to brown the chicken. And many pasta dishes can be done without cooking noodles in advance.
Use the Slow Cooker Liners from Reynolds to reduce mess/clean up. I love those things!

The idea of making in advance things like sloppy joes, spaghetti, chili, etc. is good, too, can just microwave it when ready. Maybe a meatloaf, people can heat their individual slices in the microwave. My hubby likes cold meatloaf sandwiches best anyway.

Hearty dinner sandwiches are another thought, buy some really nice thick cuts of turkey, roast beef, etc. and get some tasty buns, bring lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo/mustard. That with a bag of chips or salad, you can buy tubs of potato salad, pasta salad or cole slaw for in the fridge. Or chicken salad/tuna salad for sandwiches one night.

There are tons of sites with slow cooker recipes, many do not require you to brown the meat at all, I would take a look there. It's hard to know what your group might like, but I have been gathering all sorts of recipes and trying different things all summer to avoid using my oven and stove. One I like is ALL FREE SLOW COOKER RECIPES, the other is SLOW COOKER CHRONICLES. Many have minimal ingredients, reducing what you need to bring, and some are great for "budget" dinners.
