The procedure is a cinch...you go to sleep and wake up back in your room and it's all over!!

She's had a 2-3 of them. The 1st one was the worst of all of them cuz she had alot more of the ick stuff to drink. Now, they don't give you as much to drink. And now too, they give you a med in the IV that makes you groggy/sleepy & another one that causes kind of like short-term memory loss, so you don't remember the procedure/pain. But the procedure itself is usually done & over with w/in 15-20 min. Prep time takes the longest. If no problems, you usually don't have to have another one done for 5-10 yrs., unless you're in a high risk category w/family history of colorectal/colon cancer. If any polyps are found, they'll check again in 3-5 yrs. If they look suspect, probably need another check in less than 3-5 yrs.
Better safe than sorry! Same w/mammograms - get those girls checked! :)

I have had a ton of hernias and laps done,and it felt
that my stomach was busting open. Found out my problems
was from diverticulitis.Best of luck and prayers to you.

The polyp that was removed was biopsied, this 1 was not cancerous BUT this particular kind carries a definite malignant potential if left unattended. Therefore I will need to have another colonoscopy in 5 yrs versus 10 :o(
