Kroger Mid-Atlantic Ending Double Coupons

Yes, it’s true. The Kroger Mid-Atlantic region will be ending double coupons as of May 12, 2013. Since I am a regular Kroger shopper, this news saddens me! I had a good conversation with two Kroger managers on Friday. They feel that the lower prices that start April 28, 2013 will offset the ending of double coupons. Note that Kroger will still accept manufacturers coupons, but they will no longer double them.

my friend go to ralphs and she think ralphs store is cheaper than vows store which i go all the time. vons does have "J4U" program on website. i use this look like coupon.
i really missed double coupons and got some free.
right now, there is no more free but only lower cost that i buy with coupon.
that is suck and that s why i rare buy coupons from here that i used to get coupons from here. right now anymore because it is not worth at vons store that i do not get free anymore.

I read this in a local article the other day too. Although I do like Kroger and find many deals without using coupons this will lessen my choices of where I shop with my lower value coupons because I will not be able to double them. I began shopping there less at the first of the year when they did away with the rewards and mailed coupons...which by the way I wasn't getting because of some "glitch" in their system. When I inquired about it back in December and they "made it right" with me by sending a bunch of store coupons which I did not use because they were nothing I usually purchase. So no more doubles just adds to Kroger not being my top store choice. Plus their gas with rewards or even card discount is still higher than some other stations in town so why bother?
