7 0|0|Anyone do something really stupid RE: job interview|COVE|mcdonna3@gmail.com|23:49:43|04/15/2013|

I just made a big mistake. I emailed the prospective job manager and sent the email before it was finished by mistakenly hitting the send button. It was a thank you follow up letter from my interview on Friday.
Once I discovered it, I sent another email apologizing and explaining.

I really want this job, and I really think I did well on the interview.

Does anyone think I have a chance in $%$^%$&%& getting the job?

I am soooo depressed right now I can't sleep.

Would appreciate any feedback,

I would hope the manager would understand and not hold it against you. I think most people are reasonable. If you did well otherwise, I'd say your mistake was no biggie. Try not to stress over it but I know how hard it is not to :)

Let us know if you got a call back. {{Fingers crossed}}

It's nice to hear some encouraging words. I want this job so bad. I'll let you know if it turns out well.

You will stand out now for sure and they will remember your name. And they will know that you were quick to fix the mistake which shows responsibility and honesty, I wouldn't worry...it just might turn out really well. :) 4|1|You guys are the best!|COVE|mcdonna3@gmail.com|05:35:55|04/16/2013|

There's a thought, I will stand out, and she will recognize I am not too proud to admit I made a mistake and that I did "stand up" and make it right.
After all we are all only human.

We'll see, but whatever happens, it was the way it was supposed to be.

Thanks guys! You made me feel so much better!

well, once again I did not get the job. she said she went with someone with more experience. I understand that, so why do these employers ask under experienced people to interview for the job when they know, in the end, they are going to go for the person with more experience.
every time I get a call to interview I get my hopes up and every time I am passed over.
it's getting very old, and, quite frankly, I don't feel like even trying anymore.
I really want to get a job that's not so physically demanding at my age (a few years away from retirement age)so I can work longer. if I have to continue at current job I won't be able to work many more years, as opposed to a job where I could potentially work another 5-10 years, boosting my income potential.

once again I feel like a loser.

sorry to be a downer, but I felt like venting. has anyone else here ever been in this situation?

And I understand how you feel. I am in my 40's, have 10+ years in banking & customer service. Over the past 10 years I have been a SAHM, homeschooling my 3 kids. For the past 4 years I have been applying to retail stores regularly and cannot get even a call back. My experience is not recent enough. That really makes me mad. It's like starting over. Am I supposed to go to fast food like a teenager? It's insulting. Look at me, look at my resume. Do I look like an idiot?

They say it's easier to get a job if you have a job. Not fair.....

Oh, and for what it's worth, I feel like I'll never get hired again, either.

That's how I feel too. I work with people who are 30-35 years younger than me and they treat me like I'm a child who knows nothing. I had great jobs in the past. I did dental claims, policy issue, so I thought this insurance company would take a chance on me. But it's an auto insurance company and I suppose they thought I couldn't figure it out. Same as you, out of the mainstream workforce a few years and you're like an old race horse they want to retire, or shoot.
Does get very discouraging and I doubt I will even try again.

Thank you for your empathy.
