It means a lot to me to see you guys were thinking of me! Easter and my birthday fell together this year and it was a rainy, cold, dreary day to start with. Steam started billowing out of my car at a red light that morning and I had had radiator problems in the last month where they had replaced my hoses and the tank thing. I put water in it and we went back home to switch out for my husband's car. Now, he had a stroke 4 years ago and only drives his car about one a month; so it had been sitting. It had a flat tire that he and my two sons aired up with our little compressor, then I had to to jump his battery off my car,
then I noticed he had another flat tire! The air gushed out of it, when they tried to air it up. So, out came the "donut" spare, that ALSO needed airing up. The whole time my daughter in law and I were trying to entertain my 3 yr. old grandson that was getting pretty hungry and cranky. We got to her grandmother's about 45 minutes late for Easter dinner, but the sun started coming out and at least that was a very nice few hours.
Monday morning, I filled the car back up with water and got it to the garage where they told me my water pump had gone out and that it would be $354 to replace it! Didn't have much choice but to do it ... anyone know if that was a fair price?
Did I say that this was spring break and I have taken off this week to help my 16 yr. old son redo his room? He wanted to be painting the room by Tuesday morning. So on Monday afternoon, I was cutting the dry wall in his room to make a square around this huge smashed in hole portion that he and his brother had wrestled into about a year ago. Weeelll ... I was sawing when a POP, burnt stench and the lights went out at the same time. All I could think of was that I had destroyed the electric in my house and had my son throw the breaker so it couldn't catch on fire. Called my daughter in law's uncle who came and took out more dry wall to repair the 120 wire that I had cut into while he kept telling me how lucky I was not to have take a full electric shock ... my dry wall sawing knife was missing two teeth and was burned on each side of the knife ...
Well, guys that is how my birthday, Easter and spring break started out. Wish me luck because my son's room is still in progress. Oh yeah ... both sons and my daughter in law got their driver's permits yesterday ... now I will be teaching three of them to drive at the same time ...
I'll be back to work next week and posting to the boards ... if I haven't lost the rest of mind!
