I was at jcp today to use my $10/$10 or more purchase. Found 2 rugs for BR on clearance for $7 apiece. After coupon, total to be charged on jcp card was $4.27--cashier asked me if I wanted to charge an even $5 and donating the extra change to their special charity or something to that effect. I declined but thought it was kind of 'nervy'.
Just wondered if anyone else experienced this.

I always feel bad if I say "no" but between my son's elementary school and my daughter's middle school there is a new fundraiser every week. Last week I got asked 3 times in less than 2 hours if I'd donate. Once at the gas station, once at Walgreen's and once going through the drive thru at McDonald's. even in Walgreens and so many other stores. When I'm checking out they always ask if you want to donate..$1 or your change or something else to some charity. I even get it on the credit card signature pad where you have to choose No I don't want to donate. I think it is real nervy. I used to feel guilty but now if they ask I just say that I like to chose my own charities to donate to. If I gave to everyone who asked and everyone who called I'd be broke.
