seem like every time I made a whole pie I would throw part of it away, so was thinking why not try to make a half pie, so took a single Pillsbury crust and took a foil pie pan and put a piece of tin foil I folded over till it was as tall as the pan and stiff enought to stay up in the middle of the pan and hooked it to the sides with big paper clips, clothes pins would also work then put one can of filling in.with the price of the crust and filling these days being so high I figured I saved my self a bunch and no waste 1|1|good idea!|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|11:26:03|03/12/2013|

Binder clips (if you could find ones without paint on them) or paper clips but I'd be afraid clothes pins would burn up or plastic ones would melt.

5|1|All you have to do is make a smaller crust on the bottom, then cover with the other half over the fillingand then pinch it all|lv2qpon|jcummins1@rochester.rr.com|15:48:14|03/17/2013|

around to seal the edges. It is more of a large turnover than pie, but just as good. Be sure and slit the top open slightly with a knife. If you still want to seal it another way, use those turkey roaster pins and put them in on an angle to seal your half pie. I use those all the time for sealing half a breast of chicken that I cut open to fill with stuffing or for stuffed pork chops. 6|1|I buy the crust and they cost around $4|LindaOH|Martinl3@roadrunner.com|22:43:09|03/17/2013|

on a cookie sheet and fill it, fold in half like a turnover and pinch closed, but the foil was a great idea.

My Aldi had their pie crusts marked down to .79, so I bought a bunch to freeze. I like theirs as good as pillsbury, and like that option when I don't have time to make my own. I have been doing pot pies with them this winter.
