Thanks,

You really should go to the doctor and be worked up. Lots of things can cause dizziness/vertigo.

You also could try Bonine which is over the counter.

Also the Epley manuver :

When you are in an episode, find a focal point to concentrate on -- something in the room, on the way, whatever. Stare at it; don't close your eyes. The eyes and the brain need to reconcile. By using the focal point, you will find that the episode times will shorten.

The first time I had it was last July - I went ot hte ER and told them I thought I had vertigo and asked for meclamine (not sure of spelling). They admitted me!!! Within ten minutes they were testing me for a stroke - scared the hell out of me. They kept me for 2 or 3 days and the end result was "vertigo" but I guess they don't like the patient coming in with the diagnosis! Sent me to PT where they do head movements. Its the crystals in your inner ear that move out of place and that's what causes this.

Hope I've given you some info that you find helpful. If your insurance covers it, go to physical therapy. They will give you some exercises! 6|1|blood pressure ok?|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|19:20:12|03/09/2013|

I've had dizziness lately due to bp issues. Mine is usually very low, normal baseline for me is 85/65 or so. But its been running high so they increased my coreg which makes me so tired. Anyhow, it could be your blood pressure? 7|1|Thanks for the replie. It is mostly when I put my head down on the pillow and turn over and when getting up in the morning.. I did get the physical therapy years ago called the Eply Maneuver but it took about 8 visits till it went away.|BarbaraK|bkupiec@comcast.net|20:30:14|03/09/2013|

after Christmas Holidays. I had the same symptoms as Barbara, but I thought I was coming down with the Flu. I ended up seeing my naturaopathic doctor telling me to do the Epley Manuever that I do when I get up in the morning. I lay on the bed, put my head at the end of the bed, turning my head to the right for about 30 seconds, then to the left for 30 seconds (this side I always experience vertigo, not right side), then I completely turn my body to the left side and getting up slowly, turn around and get up. I continue to have these episodes daily when I get up and when I lay down at night just like Barbara, but milder as time goes on. I hope it goes away eventually. HTH, Sharon:) 9|3|very seldom but it will last a few days|pattyo|pattyolc@aol.com|02:32:50|03/10/2013|

related (fluid in the ears causing imbalance)? I had this yrs ago and it was triggered by head movements-- like you said: turning head on pillow and also looking down at floor while in bed.... Saw this post a few days ago and it started me thinking. My eyes are bad but in the past 2 years I am walking like I'm drunk. So embarrassing. I blamed on the eyes. Other symptoms too now that I've done some research. Going to my Dr. tomorrow to find out. Many thanks to all who posted here. I would never have known. 15|2|Vertigo throws off you off completely, everything from walking to being very nausous. exercises I do. I'm a diabetic so I get pretty dizzy sometimes and walk like I'm drunk. Blame it on that also. It's bad when I bend over to pick something up or get in and out of bed. It seems a lot of people have it.

Had this a few times, mine was caused by inner ear infection.
I warm sweet oil,and put cotton in, lay on opposite side so it gets way down in there.
Usually works with just one time, but may require a few.
(make sure it's warm not hot)

sinus problems/allergies. I never had it until I had sinus surgery years ago and now my left eye is much smaller than my right eye and I've noticed when I sleep on my left side I wake up with vertigo which is miserable and lasts all day long. I throw up because it makes me so nauseated and I have to lay in bed all day and not move. I can't imagine having it every day!!!! UGH!!!

Please leave me feedback if we have had a favorable trade and I will do the same for you!
